General description

The Molecular Materials and Nanosystems Group is part of the Departments of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering & Chemistry at the TU/e. Researchers from these two disciplines collaborate in coherent research program on the physics and chemistry of nanostructured organic and inorganic molecular materials. The research objective is to develop, investigate and apply molecular materials with tailored electronic and optical properties. Our interest in these functional molecular materials is driven by the scientific challenge in understanding physical phenomena in systems of reduced dimensionality down to the molecular level and by the prospects for their application in advanced technological devices such as transistors, light-emitting diodes, and solar cells.
