While in the ORGANEXT project the focus was on Technology and Economic Valorization opportunities and to a lesser extent on the training aspect, the target of the ORGA | NEXT | GENERATION project is to mainly put the attention on the development of a sustainable and forward-looking cross-border academic knowledge platform for the training of a new generation of scientists/engineers/technicians with expertise in the field of nanomaterials, innovative deposition technologies for new electro-optical applications, printable electronics and thin film solar cells to stimulate the Meuse-Rhine Euregion and to support in a further development to a top technology region in this domain.

This transnational academic training platform aims a concrete educational cooperation between all the academic partners in the Meuse-Rhine Euregion:

  • Belgium: UHasselt University (lead partner), IMOMEC, Université de Liège (ULG)
  • Netherlands: TU/Eindhoven, associated partner Maastricht University
  • Germany: RWTH Aachen

Due to the proposed cross-border educational cooperation between the mentioned universities, it is precisely the combination of the complementary expertise of the different partners that can lead to the development of the planned state-of-the-art interdisciplinary teaching materials and strengthening of the Euregion labor market by training of highly qualified personnel in all the various universities in the Euroregion.
